Campaign Story

Hello. My name is Monica Dyer. I’m a 31 year old female who has a unicornuate uterus and I was shot in the abdomen eleven years ago. I’m married to my best friend, Samuel. We have been together for nine years now. I was shot by an ex in the abdomen eleven years ago and it made it extremely difficult for me to get pregnant. We didn’t know that I was also suffering from another condition that stopped me from getting pregnant. God blessed us in August of 2015 with a son. I was in the hospital my entire pregnancy on bedrest. My water broke at 21 weeks. They told us that he would die. It was no way possible to stop my labor and to care for him once he was born at only 21 weeks. We were devastated but trusted in God. God prevailed and our son was born 5 weeks and 4 days later at 1 pound 14 ounces. He was in the hospital for 103 days. We love being parents. It has always been our dream. Since our son was one, we have been trying for another one with no success. We have tried clomid, other treatments, multiple tests and ultrasounds. We visited several fertility doctors until we got an answer. I have a rare condition called unicornuate uterus. I was born with a uterus that’s 40% the size of normal and one Fallopian tube. I also have one kidney. We were absolutely devastated. Now we will never have the big family we dreamt of. I went into severe depression. After counseling, I arose with a new fire burning inside of me. We will get our family. We just need some help getting there. Anything at all will help. God didn’t give me the passion and desire of being a mom for nothing. We have to do some work to get there. We tried adoption last year but that didn’t work out as we had planned. Our son is seven now and desperately wants a sibling. We are very appreciative of anything at all. Thank you and God bless you !!
